He then threw down a challenge to listeners, daring them to identify any billionaire’s heir globally with a comparable record. “Not to brag, but which other billionaire’s child do you know in the world? I am not talking about Africa that has made a name for himself and also made a lot of money? You can’t name one apart from me,” he declared.

Reflecting on his early years in music, Davido reportedly admitted that his privileged background initially counted against him, as fans and critics gravitated towards artists who came from nothing. He insisted, however, that years of graft and a string of hits have cemented his place among the biggest names in Afrobeats, and that he has prioritised building a legacy over leaning on his family’s reputation.
