Tems Named Executive Producer of Children of Blood and Bone Soundtrack, Joined by Ayra Starr, BNXN and Fireboy DML

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has been confirmed as the Executive Music Producer and Curator of the official soundtrack for the film adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone, according to reports. The appointment reportedly makes her the first woman to executive produce a movie soundtrack on this scale, and she has also delivered three brand-new original songs for the project.

Gina Prince-Bythewood Hails Tems’ “No Skips” Curation as Burna Boy Consults

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed that she specifically wanted Tems to steer the project’s musical direction. “I wanted Tems to curate the soundtrack. I wanted her to executive produce it. She’s actually the first woman to executive produce a soundtrack at this level, which is incredible. She put together an epic soundtrack. There are absolutely no skips… The soundtrack is so amazing, and I’m so proud of Tems, who had never done this before and created something truly extraordinary,” the filmmaker said.

The tracklist will also carry serious Afrobeats firepower, with Ayra Starr, BNXN and Fireboy DML confirmed among the contributing artists. Burna Boy, meanwhile, has been brought on as Executive Music Consultant, working alongside Tems to shape the overall sound of the film.

Prince-Bythewood confirmed the assembled cast of musicians herself: “Then Burna Boy came on board as the executive music consultant. We’ve got three new Tems tracks. We’ve got Fireboy DML, BNXN (Benson), and Ayra Starr.”

The role marks a significant expansion of Tems’ career, moving her beyond performing and songwriting into full creative oversight of a major Hollywood production’s music. Children of Blood and Bone is adapted from Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel and has drawn worldwide anticipation ahead of its release.
