The 30-year-old had been out of competitive football since parting ways with the Premier Soccer League outfit in February 2026, a gap that reportedly also impacted his involvement with Nigeria’s senior national team. His return to the Eastern Cape now hands him a route back to regular action.

Confirming the news in a post online, the club told fans: “Chippa United Football Club is delighted to welcome @nwabali32 back to the Chilli Boys.” A further statement added: “After taking time away, Stanley Nwabali returns to the Eastern Cape, and we are pleased to welcome him back to the club.”

This marks a second stint at Chippa United for the goalkeeper, who initially arrived at the club in 2022 and grew into one of its standout performers before his exit earlier this year.
