Adebayo Tijani Swears on Bible and Quran Over Allegation Against Ex-Wife and Her Son
Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor and filmmaker Adebayo Tijani has stirred intense debate online after alleging that he found his ex-wife in bed with her last son. The claim surfaced in an interview published by FeelRightNews TV on YouTube on Monday, July 27, 2026, during which the visibly emotional actor offered to swear on both the Bible and the Quran to affirm his account.
Tijani Says the Discovery Ended the Marriage
In the widely circulated interview, Tijani stated: “I swear with the Bible and Quran, I caught my wife and her last son knacking in bed in my house.” He stressed that he was prepared to take an oath on both holy books to stand by his version of events.
According to the actor, the relationship in question began after his first marriage collapsed. He said the union ended following the alleged discovery, despite his ex-wife reportedly pleading with him to reconsider. He did not indicate whether any legal action was taken or whether the matter was reported to the authorities.
As of press time, neither the woman nor the son referenced in the allegation had issued a public response, and the claims remain unverified. Online reactions have been sharply split, with some sympathising with the actor, others urging caution until fuller details emerge, and several questioning the wisdom of taking such a private family matter public.
A Respected Director Now at the Centre of Controversy
Born on March 24, 1975, in Oyo State, Tijani has built a career spanning more than two decades. Though trained in Survey and Geo-Formatics, he pivoted to filmmaking, making his debut with Durosinmi in 2002. His directing credits include “Omo Elemosho” (2013), “King of Thieves” (2022) and “Jagun Jagun” (2023), the last of which earned him Director of the Year at the 2024 Best of Nollywood Awards.
Tijani married lawyer Folashade Adebayo in 2012 after three years of dating, and the couple welcomed their first child later that year. In a 2010 interview, he had said he would not marry an actress, arguing that professionals in the same field should not wed. For a figure of his standing, allegations of this nature typically draw sustained public scrutiny, and observers have noted the disclosure could carry consequences for both his personal life and public image. Tijani has offered no further updates since the interview aired.
