Pastor Kumuyi Tells Nigerians Only Divine Intervention Can Solve the Country’s Insecurity Crisis

Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has called on Nigerians to turn to God as the nation continues to struggle with worsening security challenges. The respected clergyman made the appeal while speaking with journalists following a courtesy visit to the Benue State Government House, where he was ahead of an upcoming Global Crusade billed to take place in the Gboko and Otukpo Local Government Areas.

Addressing the troubling state of insecurity across parts of Nigeria, Kumuyi acknowledged that human actors bear responsibility for acts of violence, but maintained that no human solution would be sufficient on its own. “We know that, when bad things happen, there are people who are responsible for it, but the people are not the solution. God is our problem solver,” he stated. He further referenced a biblical passage, noting that God had promised to respond to His people once they approached Him in humility and turned away from wrongdoing.

The pastor described the forthcoming week-long Global Crusade in Gboko and Otukpo as an opportunity for Nigerians to recommit themselves to their faith during difficult times. He also took a moment to acknowledge the Benue State Government’s efforts in advancing infrastructure and education, even amid the security pressures the state faces, expressing confidence that a combination of governmental dedication and faith could yield lasting peace and development.

According to reports, his comments have since generated significant discussion online, with Nigerians divided between emphasising the power of prayer and calling for more concrete government-led security measures alongside spiritual solutions.
