Man Sparks Online Debate After Warning That Men Do Not Have Unlimited Time to Marry

A social media user has ignited a fresh conversation about marriage timing for men, pushing back against the popular notion that males face no biological or practical deadline when it comes to settling down. The post, shared on X, drew significant engagement and split opinions on the relationship between age, finances, and family planning.

What Was Said

In a post that has since circulated widely on X, the user posed a pointed question to men who plan to marry at 40 or later — noting that at that age, their children would likely still be in secondary school or just starting university by the time the father reaches 60. He went further, raising the possibility that a couple who marries at 40 might not have children until three years into the marriage, pushing the timeline back even further.

He also questioned whether any parent would want to be attending school PTA meetings well into their senior years, relying on a walking stick, at an age when most people are approaching or have already reached retirement. His argument was that a man at 60 should ideally have children who are already establishing themselves independently, with even the youngest being in their third or fourth year at university.

While he cautioned men against rushing into a marriage with the wrong partner, he was equally firm that this should not be mistaken for having endless time. According to the post, the responsible path is to act with urgency. He also reportedly described it as hypocritical when men in their 40s dismiss women above 35 in favour of significantly younger partners.

The Online Exchange

The post, shared by the X account @GloriousGod01, prompted a back-and-forth with another user, @bleq_en_belle, who advised men to marry early only when financially stable, and to focus on building themselves first if they are not. @GloriousGod01 challenged that view directly, questioning how realistic financial stability is for the average man. His position, according to the exchange, is that a man does not need to be fully financially stable before marrying — only that he should have a dependable source of income and be capable of covering basic needs.
